Can a dermatologist or a cosmetic person please answer my question only?

Is it okay to shave right above the knee. My 13 yr old daughter wants too, because she does have hair on her upper leg. Will it grow back thick and coarse? Can a dermatologist or a cosmetic person please answer my question only?
I shave my entire legs.

There's no proven fact that your hair grows back thicker or darker.

When you shave, you're just cutting the hair off up to the skin. What possible way could shaving make your hair grow back thicker or darker?

It's only appears as if it is darker/thicker because it's gone after you shave. You're not use to seeing it there.

Not to mention: When you shave, you're cutting the hair at a pretty blunt angel. It's not going to fall or blend naturally. So once again, it appears thicker/darker and more coarse.

Not to mention, as well: There's often more than one hair growing in the pore. They all grow at different rates. So. By shaving, you're basically making the two or more hairs in the pore grow at the same lengths, which will also make it appear darker/thicker.

Good luck.
